The College of Physiotherapists of Alberta follows a competency‑based appointment process for vacancies on Council. Applications from interested candidates were accepted between February 2, 2026, and March 2, 2026, and seven applications were received. The Governance Committee was impressed by the level of interest demonstrated by Regulated Members and sincerely thanks all applicants for the time and energy invested in this process.
With the support of an external consultant, the Governance Committee reviewed all applications against the Council skills and competency matrix and selected candidates for interview. Following a review of the applications and interviews, the Governance Committee made recommendations to Council for appointment.
Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Gabbai and Crystal MacLellan to three-year terms on Council.
Council would also like to acknowledge outgoing regulated member William Tung for his service. William served two consecutive three-year terms on Council, and we thank him for his thoughtful contributions and commitment to the regulation of physiotherapists in Alberta.
