The College protects and serves Albertans by helping ensure registered physical therapists are qualified and competent practitioners who practice professionally and ethically. We:
• Regulate, lead and support Alberta physical therapists.
• Set and enforce practice and professional standards.
• License only qualified and competent physical therapists.
• Administer a continuing competency program.
• Investigate public/patient concerns.
• Promote and advocate excellence in physical therapy
and patient care.
• Support member understanding of and adherence to
their regulatory responsibilities.
We currently license and regulate over 2000 Alberta physical therapists who work in various settings including hospitals, private clinics, long-term care facilities, community health centres, home care, universities, schools and rehabilitation centres.
