Physical therapists (along with occupational therapists and physicians) are authorised by the Alberta goernment to complete the parking placard application forms
As with the provision of an physical therapy services, physical therapists must ensure they have fulfilled all professional obligations regarding gathering and documenting all information necessary to render a judgment about a person's physical status.
Placard determing process
Physical therapists must assess the person's current and future ability to walk 50 meters (150 feet) and provide an opinion regarding the limitations are short term, long term or permanent. In cases where a certified medical professional identifies permanent disability that will not improve within the next fie years, there is no need to re-examine the person and self-reports will be accepted.
